Your Daily Dose of Fiction.

About

Made Up Morning is a satire website. Every morning we publish one completely fictional story, written in the straight-faced style of a news report, about things that could never happen: Mondays caused by software updates, traffic jams with their own postcodes, office kettles that demand meeting invites.

What makes it different

  • One story a day, the same for everyone on Earth. Tap “Give me fake news for today” and you get the day’s story. Your friend in another city gets the same one, so you can laugh about it together.
  • A library of nonsense. “Surprise me” pulls a different story from our archive, organised into sections such as Corporate Chaos, Technology Gone Wrong and Pop Culture Pandemonium.
  • Never mean, never real. We laugh at situations, objects and systems, not at real people or groups.

How the stories are made

Stories are written with the help of AI writing tools, then checked automatically against strict editorial rules before anything is published. Our rules include: no real people named, no real companies or brands, no disasters, crime, health scares, politics or religion, and every headline must be obviously absurd on its own. Every story carries a visible satire label.

If something ever slips through that looks too real or crosses a line, please tell us and we will fix or remove it quickly.

Nothing here is real

Every person, quote, statistic, company and institution in our stories is invented. Real cities and countries appear only as settings. Nothing on this site is news, and nothing is advice. See our satire disclaimer.
